Data Rescue Mac Frequently Asked Questions

• I just initialized a hard drive with data that I need still on it. Can I use Data Rescue to recover those files?
  Possibly. Data Rescue works with the catalog, when you initialize a drive you are effectively creating a new catalog. Data Rescue will check that catalog, but as a newly initialized drive it is empty. Try running a Thorough Scan on the drive. There might still be files that Data Rescue can recover.
  We do offer a free trial version of Data Rescue. This will tell you if Data Rescue can recognize the drive you want to scan. At the end of the scan all files Data Rescue found will be displayed to you. The demo will allow you to recover one file so you can make sure the file is readable and not corrupted. If your happy with the results you can purchase Data Rescue to recover the rest of the files.
